Surprised that we talk about eating disorders and addiction at the same time? Food is something we need every day. We cannot live without food! Thus, how is it possible to be "addicted" to food?

These eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating) are a different addiction than an addiction to substances, because an addiction to food is not an addiction to the elements (foods) themselves, but it is an addiction to a worry or a concern. It is an obsession.

At first, we eat to compensate, then we eat to feel safe and then we eat because it fills a hole in our soul. It does not just fill the stomach!
